If you missed the very intimate set we played last week at the Andaz Hotel for The Roxy’s Under the Covers series, we have some good news. Yes its true that you missed a great show and some stories we shared about the origins of certain songs – but the spirit of the evening was immortalized for posterity and the interwebs. You see, before and during the gig, we had the extreme priviledge of being photographed by Genie Sanchez – ‘The Sunset Strips Photographer’. Genie is truly an amazing talent – I mean the woman wields a lens like Inigo Montoya wields a sword. In addition to serving as the house photographer at The Roxy, The Playboy Mansion, and The Viper Room, Genie has been the personal photographer for national touring acts including The Jonas Brothers, and Samantha Maloney. News

Back In LA

We are back in LA after a short sabbatical in The Lone Star State. We had another epic year at SXSW 2012 and had a nice little vacay in South Padre Island. Read more about our travels here or check out the Ty Talks section of the website.

We’ve got a few shows coming up in the next two months. Thursday March 29 we will be performing at The Andaz Hotel on the Sunset Strip; this will be a rare acoustic, story time type show, so don’t miss out. On Friday March 30 we will be playing the Sunset Room in Agoura Hills, CA. This show will be a two set evening with type show, also not to be missed. It has been a while since we’ve had a long show to stretch our legs and we are amped for this one. For info on these shows, just scroll down the 28north.com home page.

Also coming up is another Viper Room show on April 28. We are totally pumped to return to one of our favorite venues in LA. Mark your calendars and get ready to boogie down at the Viper with us!

In the meantime we are continuing to work diligently on our new record. Things are coming along better than we expected and we cannot wait to share these tunes with you all.

28 North @ SXSW

For our third year in a row, 28 North will be hitting the streets of Austin, Texas for the legendary annual South-By-Southwest Music Festival. We enjoyed the festival immensely the last two years and we are excited to do it once again. We have two shows lined up: Wednesday March 14^th we will be playing at Whiskey & Ink on 5^th St. as part of the Red Gorilla Festival, and Saturday March 17^th we will be playing at Lucky Thirteen on 6^th St. as part of the Artist Nation Showcase presented by Live Nation.

In other news, our recording is coming along great. We can’t wait to share these new tracks with you all and blow your minds. We believe it is our best recording effort yet.

Back In The Studio

Thank you to all who came out to support us at The Roxy in LA and The House of Blues in San Diego! We had such incredible times playing at these wonderful venues, and to see everyone giving it up and shaking down made us feel great.

After a brief hiatus, we are back in the studio with David Kershenbaum. We will be tracking again at Matt Sorum’s Drac Studios in West Hollywood. Just a few more guitars to flesh out these tracks, vocals to tie it all together, and our new cuts will be ready for mixing and mastering. Hang tight! We’ll have a taste for you all very soon!

We are also very excited to announce that we will be returning to Austin this spring to play at SXSW Music Festival!!! We cannot wait to get back to the lovely music capitol of the world, drink some Lone Star beer, eat tacos, and play some music.

We will also be returning to The Roxy again on Thursdsay March 8th!!!
